Special Announcement from AANR
Skinny dipping is the term given to swimming naked. Many people who don’t consider themselves nudists have indulged in this practice at one time or another.
President John Quincy Adams would get up two hours before sunrise for the chance to skinny-dip in the Potomac River. The Reverend Billy Graham once skinny-dipped in the White House pool with then-President Lyndon Johnson.
In a salute to this tradition, the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) is sponsoring an attempt to set the record for simultaneous skinny-dipping.
The event is set to take place at participating clubs and legally-sanctioned nude beaches throughout North America on Saturday July 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Nudist Time, to coincide with Nude Recreation Week.
Says the AANR press release on the event, “We want the world to know the joys of fun and wholesome skinny-dipping as an American tradition proudly supported by AANR while being recognized by Guinness World Records™.”
